The June N.O. 3.0 features a conversation with self-described geek, Chris Boudy, who is passionate about closing the digital divide among New Orleanians.  Also download the feature's debut with Timolynn Sams, the executive director of the Neighborhoods Partnership Network.

For July, my Education Segment discussion is with Deirdre Johnson-Burel, the Executive Director of the Orleans Public Education Network.  We have a great conversation about public engagement in meetings about the continued recovery of public schools in New Orleans.

My May Success Series interview is with Sonya Chatman-Leathers, a designer who has created a fashion line dedicated to HIV/AIDS awareness.  Selected as one of New Orleans Magazine's "30 People to Watch", her outfits incorporate the HIV/AID Awareness Ribbon.

The page also has great interviews with such luminaries as Dr. Cornel West, Dr. Rod Paige, Dr. Ron Wright (chancellor of Delgado Community College), Kem, David West and more.

"REAL TALK" ON Q93

The July 24th edition of Real Talk has a really engaging conversation about Sensory Processing Disorders.  Kathy Sutton and Barrie Galvin of the Sensory Integration Education Research Foundation visit us to talk about these unique disorders which have a not-so-unique presence in our society.

"SUNDAY JOURNAL" ON 98.5-WYLD

webassets/985Studio.jpgThe July 25th edition of Sunday Journal features a rerun of Hal Clark's interesting conversation with Bro. Capt. Dennis Muhammad.  Capt. Muhammad attempted to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the New Orleans Police Department to do sensitivity training with police officers as well as citizens.

Upon learning that he is a member of the Nation of Islam, members of the community called for the negotiations to cease.  Capt. Muhammad comments on where he feels his training would have been beneficial for NOPD had he been afforded the opportunity to conduct his training, which has been successful in other cities.

See the above Podcast Page section for information about my Education Segment, the Sunday Journal Success Series and N.O. 3.0.

HISTORY

I have been in radio since 1993, when I joined Clear Channel Radio of New Orleans' promotions department as an intern.  In 1996 I successfully made the jump to the airwaves as the producer of the "C.J. & Company" morning show on WQUE-FM

In 2000, I joined the staff of WYLD-FM to get deeper into on-air work.  I had the privilege of hosting two very cool shows---"Friday Night Funk" and "Studio 98".  The two party show provided an avenue for folks to hear the party side of me, plus the music was fun to play.

Now Southeast Louisiana radio listeners can catch me on both Q93 and 98.5-WYLD.  I produce and co-host "Real Talk" on Q93 with Wild Wayne, and I co-produce and contribute to "Sunday Journal" on 98.5-WYLD.  The show, which is hosted by Hal Clark, was selected the 2009 Best Radio Talk Show by the Press Club of New Orleans.

My broadcasting adventures have also taken me to the television airwaves.  Back in the day, I hosted two shows on New Orleans Access Television.  One show was "Eddie Francis: My TV Show!" and the other was "Ed. Talk".

Where my greatest joy lies is in interviews.  I have had the pleasure of interviewing some of the coolest folks like:  Donna Brazile; Maurice White of Earth, Wind & Fire; Danny Glover; U.S. Congressman Bobby Scott; Stan Verrett; Susan Taylor; India.Arie; Louis Gossett, Jr.; and Jeffrey Osborne.
